Altruistic Angel Canvas Created by Noel
In her own words, "This painting is the largest painting I have done so far and it carries a very special meaning. It carries a meaning of duality, a meaning of never being able to think that you are good enough. Even the background colors have special meanings. The white on the angel's side represents its purity slowly coming in. It represents his evil and the white words represent purity slowly coming in. It represents how I feel on a daily basis. It shows sadness and joy, pain and triumph. Now, duality comes into where I am in life right now. I came off of meds about a year ago, and it has been quite a change. While on meds, I was slow and at one point, broke down because I could no longer do long division. When I got off of meds is when I started being really passionate about art. I mean, on meds I did a bit of art, but not like this. It is serious to me now, not just a hobby. It is my life; all of my art is a piece of my heart and soul put onto paper, canvas, or any media."
This is an amazing and emotional piece that carries as much meaning as it does beauty.
About Noel
Noel is a homeschooled high school sophomore. Just 26 days after her eighth birthday she had her first known seizure and within six months was diagnosed with epilepsy. As of December 28, 2018 Noel was one year seizure and med free, something she and her family thought would never happen. Since weaning off her meds, Noel has found a greater passion for art and wants to share this love with the world. She wants to use her talent to help others by becoming one of the very few medical/scientific illustrators in the United States. As of now, she plans on interning this summer for Nucleus Medical and, upon high school graduation, she wants to attend Oglethorpe University with a dual major of Biology and Studio Art. After her undergraduate studies, she hopes to attend Augusta University to earn her Master's degree in Medical Illustration, a highly competitive program where no more than ten students are accepted each year.
The proceeds from this item will go to support Camp Carpe Diem scholarships, in honor of Noel and her love of camp!
