Born on the slopes of Copper Mountain in the summer of 1972, ski chair #144 was part of "B" Lift. This lift was one of the four original lifts installed on Copper Mountain and was ready to roll for the resort's inaugural season in November of the same year.

Chair #144 is a double "fixed grip" chair supplied by the Heron-Poma Chair Co. On the "B" Lift, this chair served Colorado skiers for two decades until it made its final loop at Copper Mountain in 1993. That off-season, "B" Lift was replaced with the state of the art 6 pack detachable Super Bee.

After their tenure at Copper, all the chairs from the "B" Lift were sold to Eldora Mountain Resort to replace the outdated center pole chairs on the resort's Cannonball Lift. Chair #144 lived out the rest of its days in Boulder County until it's true final run on April 9th 2017. That off-season saw the Front Range's first six pack detachable lift installed and chair #144 was retired from service for good.

In early 2019 Roost Design & Consulting restored chair #144, honoring its service by retaining the rustic nature of the piece. Today, chair #144 is looking for its forever home and hopes you'll welcome a piece of Colorado history into yours.
