Wind through piney woods, picnic in a mountain meadow -- even clatter over a boardwalk spanning a "Great Swamp" where beavers build their dams. This springtime outdoor adventure begins at the Pawling, NY entrance to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, where Mrs. Jordan and Mrs. Coyle will be ready and waiting to introduce up to eight lucky students (second through fourth grade only, please) to the Trail's natural wonders on a fun and educational day hike. Your child's experience should take about four hours from start to finish, and will end with pick up at Mrs. Jordan's house in Wingdale, NY. Think of the sense of accomplishment and pride that will come from sampling even a small part of the famous trail that stretches from Georgia to Maine -- and the good night's sleep to be had after an honest day's walk in the fresh air! Students should pack lunch, snacks and water and be dressed appropriately for the weather. The hike will be scheduled on a mutually agreed upon date between May 4th and June 9th.
