It is our pleasure to invite you to Pretty in Pink an 80s Posh Prom on June 29, 2019 at the Fashion Island Hotel in Newport Beach. At this event, we want to revisit the decade that brought us the birth of MTV, PacMan, CD players, Swatch watches, headbands, leggings and big hair (thanks to the pink and white aerosol can of hairspray), re-live the nostalgia of Molly Ringwald movies, channel Madonna , Cyndi Lauper, Prince or Bowie while all the while, reminiscing about your own prom night and the excitement of it all.

Hosted by Envise SoCal for the benefit of the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program, and newly added this year, Fran Dresher's Cancer Schmancer, this fourth annual gala promises to be a fun-filled evening.

An almost 19-year uterine cancer survivor, Fran turns lemons into lemonade and pain into purpose through her leadership as a cancer advocate. Her mission is to shift America's focus toward proactive health care and healthy, toxin-free living. She believes that the best cure for cancer is not getting it in the first place. As Founder, President and Visionary of the non-profit Cancer Schmancer Movement, she focuses on three prongs to fight the disease: Early Detection, Prevention, and Advocacy.

In parallel, "The American Cancer Society has been saving lives for more than a century. Every day, 500 lives that would have otherwise been lost to cancer are saved. Your dollars help us to help people now who are fighting breast cancer in every community, while working to free the world from the pain and suffering of breast cancer tomorrow. The money raised helps the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking breast cancer research, provide information and support 24/7, and provide access to mammograms for women who need them". With over 200 guests expected to attend the event, your attendance and support will contribute to the ACS's mission to free the world from cancer and Cancer Schmancer's mission to transform passive patients into active medical consumers.

There is no denying the 80s brought us some of the biggest names in pop culture, the biggest headlines in politics and world news and likewise the biggest fashion trends.

As we travel back in time, let's recognize and take note of the advances the ACS has made in finding a cure against cancer, and how Cancer Schmancer has made a difference in patients lifestyles as it advocates clean-living. With this event, let's take even bigger strides in continuing the fight. Let's celebrate the lives that have been lost, the survivors whose lives have been changed, and those who are still fighting the battle.
