Myriad, Quivet and Goodfellow Family Cellars

Winemaker Mike Smith of Myriad and Quivet Cellars is considered one of the top winemakers in Napa Valley. You'll go home with:

  • 2016 Quivet Syrah Kenefick Ranch -
Antonio Galloni 94 Points: A powerful, explosive wine, it captures the essence of this Calistoga site. Tobacco, leather, smoke, black cherry and plum are all pushed forward. Muscular and dense, with terrific staying power, the 2016 is incredibly distinctive, not to mention flat-out delicious.

  • 2011 Quivet Cabernet Sauvignon Kenefick Ranch - 90 Points: It is quite a bit darker and more voluptuous than the Pellet Estate, with considerable fleshiness for the year. Blue and purplish-hued fruits, spice, lavender and savory herbs open up in a delicious, appealing Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next handful of years.

  • 2016 Myriad Syrah Sangiacomo Vineyard -
Antonio Galloni 92 Points: It packs a serious punch. The inky dark fruit, lavender, sage, black pepper and game flavors are lifted by the presence of 50% whole clusters. Bold, powerful and explosive, with tons of underlying structure and intensity, the 2016 is a complete, alluring wine loaded with personality.

Marcus Goodfellow of Goodfellow Family Cellars

Marcus Goodfellow is the owner and winemaker at Goodfellow Family Cellars and is known for producing small quantities of artisanal Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in an "old world" fashion. You'll go home with:

  • 2016 Goodfellow Chardonnay Durant Vineyard - CellarTracker 92 Points

Other bottles included in the package:

  • 2014 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 92 Points: Comes from 1.55 hectares of 60-year-old vines. It has a well defined, slightly masculine bouquet. Darker fruit here, yet still detailed. The palate is brisk and lively on the opening, quite citric in the mouth, darker fruit -- but with a brightness and lucidity coming through on the "playful" finish.

  • 2014 Turley Zinfandel Mead Ranch - Antonio Galloni 94 Points: The 2014 Zinfandel Mead Ranch is powerful, rich and explosive. A burst of red cherry and pomegranate makes a strong first impression. Beams of Atlas Peak tannin extend the mid-palate and finish, while giving the wine its distinctive shape.

  • 2013 Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley - Robert Parker 93 Points: Hobbs has hit the bull's-eye with his selection of 2013 Cabernet Sauvignons, which has some Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot in the blend. About 40% of this comes from their estate vineyard in Coombsville. This is just beautiful, an earthy, graphite-laden, crème de cassis-scented wine with plenty of depth, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long, opulent finish.

  • 2009 Mas de Boislauzon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée du Quet - 80% tank-aged Grenache and 20% small barrel-aged Mourvedre from 60-year-old vines, it is spectacular. Its dense purple color is accompanied by an exquisite bouquet of boysenberries, mulberries, blueberries and other wild mountain blue and black fruits. Possessing great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and superb purity, it is a singular expression of old vine Grenache blended with Mourvedre. The finish lasts for 50+ seconds, and the wine has a skyscraper-like texture as well as a multidimensional set of aromatics and flavors.
