Contemporary Collections, Photography & Modern Masters | 6 Volumes

Lot includes all six books and 10% off gift certificate to Marble & Canvas.

Explore photography, modern art, works on paper, and the strength of Kansas City's contemporary art community with this collection of six museum publications and artist-focused volumes.

At the heart of the collection are publications from the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art at Johnson County Community College, including a 2021 Nerman Museum volume and two copies of the Oppenheimer Collection publication. The Oppenheimer Collection is a cornerstone of the museum's permanent holdings and includes painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, new media, textiles, and works on paper by significant contemporary artists.

Also included is Eudora Welty: Photographs (1989), revealing another dimension of the celebrated American writer through her evocative photography; Works on Paper: Manet to Picasso (1990), exploring drawing and works on paper by major modern artists; and a 1984 volume devoted to Jasper Johns, one of the most influential figures in postwar American art.

Together, these books offer an engaging journey from modern masters to contemporary collecting, combining photography, drawing, painting, museum scholarship, and Kansas City cultural history.

An excellent addition to the library of an artist, collector, museum enthusiast, photographer, or contemporary-art lover.
