About the donor: I'm Edmon Perkins. I farm and build traditional Choctaw pottery on the South Canadian River bottom in the N.W. corner of the Choctaw Nation. After seeing our ancestral pottery from Moundville, Alabama, I started trying to replicate it to show the modern era that woodland pottery is magnificent. It seemed that not much was known about how great our Choctaw ancesters were at building pottery. Its diversity ranges from effigies to post etched images. To create a post etched image, an image is etched into a vase, then, after it's fired, the image is re-etched so that it is a light colored image on a darkened vase or bottle. Our Choctaw ancestors were amazing at building pottery. The artistry of their pottery also gives us a small look into their lives and beliefs.
Shipping: A medium item fee of $25 would apply if shipping is needed for this item.
