Artist(s) Biography

Artist Duo John Page and Dave Thorbeck ran a ceramic studio in Seattle during the 1980s-2000s. Page started his ceramic career in the 1970s as a graduate of the University of North Carolina, he then spent some time teaching at Duke University before moving to Seattle. It was at this time he met Thorbeck and the two struck up a relationship. Soon after they joined in professional partnership as well opening their ceramic studio and collaborating on works. Though they separated some years later they maintained their joint studio practice selling functional works. They had many recognizable staples of their collaboration from their "Naked Boy" dinnerware sets to their "Mad Dog" Mugs.
