Meet & Greet with Legendary Marathoner Kathrine Switzer
Kathrine Switzer is best known for being the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon in 1967 before women were allowed to enter the race. The iconic photo of the race director attempting to pull off her bib number -261- and throw her out of the race captured headlines around the world and catapulted her into the sports-activist spotlight. Kathrine's many accomplishments include running 42 marathons, winning the New York City Marathon, advocating to make the women's marathon an official Olympic event, winning 3 Emmy Awards and authoring three books. Today, Kathrine leads the global nonprofit "261 Fearless" empowering women in 13 countries through running and education.
The high bidder and a friend or two will take to the carriage roads at Mohonk Preserve for a walk at an easy pace and then enjoy a coffee with Kathrine at a local coffee shop. Kathrine will also donate a framed copy of her famous Boston Marathon photo which will be autographed to the winner.
Please note: Valid until November 15, 2026 and then April 1 - November 15, 2027. Date must be arranged in advance and mutually agreed upon.
