Artist Bio

I attended Marwen, a free program for youth here in Chicago. This program has been greatly impactful to me, exposing me to artists, different mediums, and the power of art to transform my life and the lives of others. In high school, I attended GCE Lab School (Global Citizen Experience). This school gave me a broad and diverse worldview while teaching me about relevant issues in the world that affect our lives and gave me the tools and knowledge to begin to think about how to create positive change in our world. Both of these experiences led me to apply to the School of the Art Institute which has given me even greater tools and resources to create art and make change in the world.

In my current work, I am interested in design, architecture, photography, and sculpture. I explore these fields through various materials and mediums. What I'm most interested in is developing my ability to generate new ideas that balance my interests in both art and design. I also have a great interest in business and entrepreneurship and how these fields can be incorporated into my art-making process. Traditionally young artists have struggled to make a living while making their work. I intend to create a practice that harmoniously incorporates art, business, and design. The way that I have been doing this is by learning different mediums and skills and by interning at different organizations, firms, and workshops.
