What is Honor Flight?

Southwest Florida Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring America's veterans by providing them with an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in recognition of their service and sacrifice.

The experience includes visits to iconic sites such as:

World War II Memorial
Korean War Veterans Memorial
Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Arlington National Cemetery
U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial
Additional military and national monuments
For many veterans, this journey provides long-awaited recognition, healing, camaraderie, and a chance to reflect on their service alongside fellow veterans.

Your Role as an Escort

Honor Flight escorts serve as companions and caregivers for veterans throughout the day. Escorts help ensure each veteran enjoys a safe, meaningful, and memorable experience while traveling to our nation's capital.

As an escort, you will:

Travel alongside veterans throughout the mission
Assist with mobility and logistical needs
Share in an unforgettable day of patriotism and appreciation
Witness emotional homecoming celebrations and veteran recognition ceremonies
Help honor the men and women who served our country

To be a guardian:

Must be between 18 and 72 years old
Must be able to push 250 pounds for a mile.
Must attend the mandatory 3-hour Guardian Training prior to the flight.

Must have a real ID, compliant with TSA

*Winners will be contacted. Items are available for pickup 6/14/26 at 11 am at AdventHealth Center Ice. Shipping is available at the cost of the winner (cost tbd).

*Winners will pay through the platform immediately at the conclusion of the auction. There will be responsible for a 3.6% processing fee from Givesmart.
