Untitled limited edition lithograph by Pierre Marie Brisson; numbered 75 of 75; 41 x 30 inches framed; signed by the artist.
A descendant of Gaugin, Pierre Marie Brisson is a French contemporary artist whose work draws upon centuries of art history, combining ancient motifs, modernist imagery, and contemporary sensibility. Born in Orleans, France in 1955, Brisson studied with French painter Bernard Saby before moving to Paris, where he studied etching at the Pasnic Workshop. His richly layered works incorporate bold patterns and organic forms inspired by nature and the human body, reflecting his fascination with archaeological time and artistic tradition. Brisson's work has been exhibited internationally and is held in such collections as the Cartier Foundation, Jewish Museum of New York, and National Library of France.
