All Flags Flying by Mary Maguire - giclee print of a water color; 19 x 23 inches framed; 2026.

A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, artist Mary Maguire was a former book editor at Knopf and Random House who also maintained a small design business illustrating for Newsweek and Good Housekeeping. She developed special projects for Conde Nast publications and served as features editor of Lauren, a lifestyle magazine produced by designer Ralph Lauren. Her last stint as editorial director of The Muppets for the Jim Henson Company foretold of the many fantastical creatures she would soon paint. She later moved to the Connecticut shoreline and reinvented herself as an antique art dealer. Working from her waterfront studio in Hadlyme, Maguire often pairs her original watercolors and hand-colored antique fine-art prints with one-of-a-kind vintage frames. Works similar to the one up for bid have been featured in Vogue, House Beautiful, and Architectural Digest.
