Cynthia Richardson is an artist and retired architect living in Anacortes, Washington. Cynthia started painting in college, but put her brushes aside for many years of graduate school, raising children, and a full-time architectural career. Rediscovering the pleasures of painting a few years ago, she now shows her work in several galleries, and enjoys the challenges of this new creative adventure. While Cynthia paints a variety of subjects, landscapes are a special interest, along with the birds, animals, trees and flowers that share our world. She enjoys creating scenes that invite the viewers into the picture so that they can imagine themselves being in that place, or be reminded of somewhere they've been. Cynthia was honored to be a featured artist in LaConner's Art's Alive 2017 Invitational Show. Many of her paintings have been selected for juried shows at the Anacortes Arts Festival and the Edmonds Arts Festival. Her paintings are displayed in the permanent art collections at Island Hospital and Skagit Valley Hospital, and the Anacortes Public Library and she is an Artist's Magazine award winner.
