Year-Round Organic Food Production & Education for Our Community

Help us grow year-round with a 42-foot geodesic dome greenhouse! This initative will finally allow us to grow fresh, certified organic food - and teach students - all year long. Today, our farm goes dark from November to April, leaving schools, families, and food-access partners without the produce and programming they rely on.

Why It Matters
Ohio winters stop our growing - but they don't stop hunger, learning, or community needs. The winter shutdown breaks commitments to: Local schools, including Brecksville-Broadview Heights, where our organic produce partnership. The dome makes it a twelve-month commitment and creates a winter classroom for hands-on science. Summit Fresh Mobile Market, serving underserved families who lose access to local organic food in winter. Stewart's Caring Place & Akron-Canton Food Bank, where perishable organic produce is among the scarcest items in their winter inventory.

Refugee farmers in our Vulnerable Voices program, who face a winter without income - until now.

What We're Building
A 42-foot geodesic Growing Dome engineered for true winter production and year-round learning:

Passive solar heating - no fossil fuels
30-year lifespan
30-40°F warmer inside on 10°F days thanks to a built-in thermal pond This is not just a greenhouse - it's a winter-proof education center.

Year-Round Education & Programming
The dome creates an entirely new season of learning at Crown Point:

Hands-On School Science in January
Students will be able to study passive solar design, plant cycles, aquaponics, and ecological systems inside a living dome when outdoor learning is normally impossible. It becomes "Northeast Ohio's premier farm education dome."

Winter CSA & Farm-to-Table Programs
For the first time, a Winter CSA (20-25 shares) becomes possible, alongside year-round dinners, workshops, and community education.

Aquaponics: A Living Ecosystem Classroom
The dome's thermal pond can host a full aquaponics system - fish and plants in a closed loop - offering an extraordinary STEM learning environment.

Nature Education in the Harshest Months
"Children belong outside - in every season." The dome makes that possible in January, giving school groups, homeschool families, scouts, and community learners a warm, living classroom.

Refugee Farmer Training
Our Vulnerable Voices farmers gain a fourth season of work, income, and agricultural training - a rare opportunity among refugee farmer programs nationwide.

A Community Asset for Decades
With proper care, The Fourth Season will still be feeding families and teaching children in 2055. Every pound grown here is a pound that didn't travel 1,500 miles to reach a Summit County table - and every lesson taught here is one that would otherwise be lost to winter.
