CHARLEY FRIEDMAN is a Pollock-Krasner recipient. Selected solo exhibitions include MoMA PS1, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Everson Museum of Art, the Fabric Workshop, Sheldon Museum of Art, Queens Museum, Art Omi, Joslyn Art Museum, Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery at Stony Brook University, and Museum of Nebraska Art. Friedman received his MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1995. Selected residencies include MacDowell, Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, and Fountainhead. His work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Miami Herald, White Hot Magazine, Hyperallergic, and Village Voice. His work is held in collections including the Walker Art Center, Brooklyn Museum, Sheldon Museum of Art, Stanford University, Art Omi, Brooklyn Museum, and the New York Public Library's Prints Collection. His immersive installation Soundtracks for the Present Future debuted at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts before traveling to four institutions across the United States.
