ELAINE FLECK is a painter best known for her fabric and oil paintings. Small pieces of fabric create the foundation of her paintings, and as they unfold, she meticulously incorporates the patterns in the cloth with oil paints to bring the images into focus. She holds a BFA in painting and printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University and further art training from the San Francisco Art Institute and City College of San Francisco. Solo exhibitions in recent years have been held at the Cary Arts Center in Cary, NC, and the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center in Columbus, OH. Duo and group exhibitions took place at the Durham Arts Council in Durham, NC, and the Muscarelle Museum of Art in Williamsburg, VA. She is the 2024 Best in Show winner at Radford University Art Museum in Radford, VA, and maintains a studio in Roanoke, VA.
