BETH FEIN, with roots in Berkeley and Oakland, CA, pulls inspiration from her surroundings and seeks the thread that runs through diverse cultures and across borders. Her interdisciplinary practice spans printmaking, installation, video, and performance. As a performer, Fein has created numerous site-specific pieces for civic venues, including the Oakland Museum of California, the San Francisco Public Library, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and the Berkeley Art Center, as well as out on the street. Though subtle, her art practice speaks to accessibility and social justice. Fein has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work is in the collections of Yale University's Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library, Oakland Museum of California, Taller Grafica Experimental de Grafica de la Habana, Zuckerman Museum, Nevada Museum of Art's Center for Art and Environment and the San Francisco Art Commission. Fein has been awarded artist residencies in Cuba, Spain, Argentina, Basel, Switzerland, New York, Vermont, and California.
