JULIE KREGNESS (JK) THORSEN is a full-time artist. She is honored to participate again in Bemis Center's Benefit Art Auction. Without pretension, trend, or put-upon theme, Thorsen produces and exhibits new work while continuing earth-friendly practices. She has her style and is often inspired by humor, experiences, relationships, non-violent play, our times, and the stories of others. Thorsen has taught and developed curricula for Joslyn Art Museum and UNMC's Weigel Williamson Low Vision Center; provided digital illustration for Hughes Space and Communications in California; designed bathing suits for Desmond's of Los Angeles; and designed tennis dresses with pockets for Neswick Court of Connecticut. She studied art and theatre (Duke Stroud) at Pasadena Junior College. Her work is found in collections, exhibits, galleries and, on occasion, thrift shops.
