The Remington 11-87 is a gas-operated, semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun introduced in 1987 as a versatile successor to the 1100, featuring a self-compensating gas system to handle both light 23Ú4-inch and heavy 3-inch magnum loads. Known for its reliability and reduced recoil, it has been widely used for hunting, clay shooting, and defense with various models, including the popular Sportsman, until production ceased in 2020.
