But for Oda and Hilmar, 1971 was not a time to jump in on a trend. This was not their way at all. On the contrary, Oda and Hilmar simply had a desire to provide for their community a place where wholesome, low-processed foods could be found for their families. The first Lassen's store was (and still is) located in Camarillo, which had been home to the growing Lassen family since 1964. Lassen's has now expanded to 10 stores and continues to provide valuable services to many communities.
