Be a judge in a new youth food competition - Picasso Plates.
- Open to youth ages 7-17, no sampling is involved. The judging is on appearance and creativity using edible ingredients. Entrants will present their most beautiful and artistic lunch or dinner that could be a charcuterie dinosaur, a dog of salad greens or even an Oreo penguin.
- Judging is on Friday, August 14 at 11 AM in the Elwell Family Foods Building. Gate admission for two and a parking pass are included.
Let your kid be Picasso at home with a Tie Dye Craft that includes 5 bottles of colored dye, a packet of socks and materials to dye with flowers, one tote and bucket hat to tie dye.
Explore various mediums with a variety of sketching pencils, markers and a toned paper pad.
A travel journal and a colorful Iowa State Fair pillow are included.
