SFJAZZ explores the full spectrum of jazz, from its origins in the African American and Afro Caribbean communities, to its diverse and evolving expressions around the world today. They honor the artists and the music that have influenced or been influenced by jazz, and through creation, presentation, and education, inspire and build a community in the Bay Area and beyond.

The Center is the first stand-alone structure in the country built specifically for jazz performance. The centerpiece of the SFJAZZ Center is the Miner Auditorium.
