This vibrant acrylic on canvas painting was created collaboratively by internationally exhibited artist Alexandra Popescu-York and her son Ralph Suciu (Xavier '30). The work celebrates the enduring spirit and tradition of Xavier High School while interpreting this historic theme through a fresh and dynamic visual language. At the center of the composition stands the armored knight - the historic symbol of the school -
holding a sword and shield emblazoned with the year 1847, the founding year of Xavier. Radiant tones of blue and gold surge across the canvas, bringing renewed vibrancy and movement to this emblematic figure and evoking strength, courage, and the energetic life of the Xavier community. Adorned with the Latin motto "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam" (AMDG) - "For the Greater Glory of God-the painting reflects the Jesuit values that define the institution: faith, discipline, intellectual rigor, and service to others.
