Noushin Mousavi is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist based in the United States. She immigrated with a background in graphic design and is currently pursuing an MFA at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Noushin has presented solo exhibitions in Iran and has participated in group exhibitions in the United States, Iran, and Italy, including the Matres and Pandora International Festivals of Women's Ceramics in Italy. Her work has been accepted into artist residencies across the United States.
Working with a wide range of materials and processes, Noushin's practice is deeply shaped by her lived experience as an immigrant and the shifting reality of leaving one home to build another. Her work investigates how senses of home and belonging are formed and reconstructed through everyday rituals and materials, framing these acts as gestures of resilience.
In addition to her studio practice, Noushin has professional experience as an educator, curator, and writer. Her article has recently been published in Wayward Education Exchange, further extending her engagement with critical discourse and contemporary art practices.
