William Buchanan attended Jackson State University in Jackson MS. and LeMoyne College in Memphis, TN. He also studied painting, drawing and design at The Peninsula School of Art In Door County, WI (University of WI. Ext. School at Green Bay).

William's nature-inspired work has earned him multiple awards including a Hambidge Center
Fellowship and first prize painting in the 10th Annual National African American Exhibition,
Atlanta Life Insurance Company, Atlanta, GA.
William currently teaches private painting and drawing classes to young students, and reviews
art portfolios of art students seeking acceptance into the Governor's Honors Program at Georgia
Southern University.
