1You and a friend will have the chance to hear 2-time GRAMMY Winner Rhiannon Giddens live on May 8, 2026, at Carnegie Hall. With her spectacular banjo and fiddle playing, passionate vocals, and perceptive songwriting, Rhiannon is an instantly recognizable force in music. A McArthur Genius and Pulitzer Prize winner, she is equally celebrated for her boundless curiosity and insight into the untold stories and musical traditions that shape American identity. In this performance, Giddens explores the history of early American music from the birth of the banjo in the early 1700s through its prevalence in minstrelsy and the rise of the early recording industry, tracing artistic connections from Nigeria to the piedmont of North Carolina, from the Congo to Louisiana, and beyond. Also included are LP "Freedom Highway" and GRAMMY nominated LPs "What Did the Blackbird Say to the Crow", "Tomorrow Is My Turn", and "You're the One" as well as two signed 8.5 x 11 portraits.
Tickets will be at the Will Call window at Carnegie Hall the day of the show (Friday, May 8). Winners should arrive no later than 7:30 p.m. to pick up tickets for the 8:00 p.m. show.
