Andre was found on the streets in rough shape, initially reported as a very pregnant dog who may have been hit by a car-but rescuers quickly realized he was actually a male with severe fluid buildup. At 113 pounds and clearly uncomfortable, he was safely trapped and brought in for urgent care. Once he realized he was safe, his whole demeanor changed, and his sweet, loving personality started to shine.

Veterinarians drained nearly four liters of fluid to give him relief while they worked to figure out what was wrong. Despite everything, Andre was affectionate, goofy, and full of love. Further testing showed that blood was building up around his heart, and he needed a major surgery-a pericardiectomy-to save his life. Even with the high cost, his team didn't hesitate. He was worth it.

Andre made it through the surgery and began recovering with lots of love and careful monitoring. While there were still risks, he grew stronger each day. Not long before, he had been suffering alone on the streets-but thanks to his rescue and the people who rallied behind him, Andre got the second chance he deserved.

In October, Andre found his forever family. They absolutely adore him, and he is spoiled in the best way possible.

If you are not local to the St. Louis Area, shipping is available for this item upon request (for an additional cost which will be calculated for each piece individually).
