This handsome boy was heard howling and crying from inside this abandoned house at night. A neighbor finally figured out where this distressing sound was coming from and called us when he realized the dog was trapped inside.

When we arrived, we discovered the open basement window which had to be how this big boy got in. But since the window was so high up from the basement floor, he had no way to jump back out.

We climbed in through the window and made our way upstairs which is where the dog had been staying. He was trying to let people know he was there by peeking his head out the open window on the second story.

He was shy at first, but as it often happens, they warm up to the Vienna sausages. I got him leashed and back down to the basement where we just had to get him up and out the window. He was a big boy and still a bit apprehensive to let us pick him up, so we built a ramp with a mattress and old door we found in the basement. I handed the leash to the police officer waiting outside and got the dog started up the ramp with a trail of more sausages. Once he started up, the officer pulled a little on the leash, and the dog was safe outside.

We named him Oscar Mayer, and this big sweet boy is now adopted and happy to have a family of his own!
