This mama found the BEST place to hide her babies.

A call came in that a sick mama dog had wandered onto someone's farm and gave birth. We headed out as rain pounded against the Jeep. We arrived on the property and saw her - she was missing just about all of her hair. She was interested in us, but she wouldn't let us approach, so we set up a humane trap. This hungry, nursing mama went right in and gave us no trouble at all.

We followed the farm owner through the squelching mud to a shed full of hay. That's where mom had her three puppies hidden. "What a good mama you are!" The puppies were dry and warm. One was on the tiny side, so we knew we would need to keep an eye on her, but this mom had given her babies everything she had.

It was Easter weekend, so we named mom Hopper, and we named her three babies Mopsy, Flopsy, and Cottontail. We reunited Hopper with her babies at the shelter, and we gave her a warm, sudsy bath. It was the first time she had ever been cared for. At first she was nervous by our touch, but she eventually began to lean into it. She would learn more about people at her foster home where she and her babies could be in a safe, quiet place together.

If you are not local to the St. Louis Area, shipping is available for this item upon request (for an additional cost which will be calculated for each piece individually). All winning bidders will receive an email with more information once the auction has closed.
