Purdue Pete came to us a medical mess. He was staying at an abandoned house all by himself. A worker saw him, gave him his lunch, and called us. When we arrived and saw those eyebrows looking up at us, we were smitten. We knew he needed help.

He was defeated, but he let us take him with us. We got to Stray Rescue, and he went right to the clinic where we saw that he was not only super skinny, but he had a large abscess on the side of his face that needed to be drained. On top of being anemic, his bloodwork was terrible - his kidney values were not good, he had low electrolytes. and he was very dehydrated. He was struggling to use his rear legs, but after taking x-rays, we realized it was from exhaustion and malnutrition. He had lived a hard life on the streets, but he was in the right place now, and we promised to get him all fixed up.

Purdue Pete did require an emergency blood transfusion from his shelter buddy and hero blood donor, Elmers. Thanks to Elmers' generosity, Purdue Pete bounced back almost immediately. We could tell he felt SO MUCH better. He was still weak in his back legs and needed to gain weight, but he had enough energy to go for short walks with his clinic friends and even go to the play yard.

As soon as he was able to leave the clinic, he went to a medical foster home, and they decided to adopt him. Purdue Pete - the good life is yours now! You will never know suffering again.

Artwork will NOT be available to pick up before this (unless you are notified otherwise via email). If you are not local to the St. Louis Area, shipping is available for this item upon request (for an additional cost which will be calculated for each piece individually).
