Enjoy a unique hands-on baking experience with a private challah and babka making class for up to 10 people hosted by the Jewish Food Lab at Wilshire Boulevard Temple.
This special class can be held either in a private home or at the Temple and will be led by professional baker and Jewish Food Lab Programmer Emily Wittlin, along with JFL Director Toby Neiman. Participants will learn how to work with enriched doughs while making beautifully braided challah and rich, swirled babka from scratch, while also exploring the history and cultural traditions behind these beloved Eastern European (Ashkenazi) baked goods. Guests will leave with freshly baked treats and the skills and confidence to recreate them at home. No baking experience is necessary, just a love of good pastry and a fun group ready to learn together.
