ABOUT KATIE MICHEL
Since joining the Board in 2008, Katie has been a guiding force at Wave Hill, bringing her deep love for the gardens, the arts, and the Bronx community to every aspect of her leadership. With vision and dedication, she has helped Wave Hill grow with intention, strengthening the arts program, welcoming renowned artists to the gardens, and expanding Wave Hill's place in the cultural life of the City.
The Garden Fête is Wave Hill's largest fundraising event, providing essential support for our world-class gardens and inspiring programs. This year, the evening will also include an opportunity to support the restoration of Wave Hill's iconic Pergola, providing the early funding needed to begin this important project. Join us to toast Katie and support the restoration of the Pergola and the continued care of Wave Hill, from gardens and trees to historic structures, as well as the education and cultural programs that bring the landscape to life for visitors of all ages to find inspiration, connection and joy.
Restoring Wave Hill's Iconic Pergola
For generations, the Pergola has been a beloved gathering place where milestones are celebrated, new chapters begin, and every day inspires wonder with the majesty of its views. It reflects the same spirit Katie brings to Wave Hill: thoughtful stewardship and the importance of renewal.
The Garden Fête will help raise funds to help restore this iconic piece of Wave Hill's landscape. Last restored in 1996, years of water infiltration and damage from carpenter bees have compromised its integrity. Upcoming renovations will ensure the Pergola continues to be a jewels in Wave Hill's landscape while preserving its historic charm, the treasured kiwi vine, and everything that makes it irreplaceable.
