Artist BIO:

Wayne Briggs is a Provincetown, Massachusetts-based visual artist whose work blends impressionism and realism or Contemporary Realism. Working primarily in acrylic, and some oil, and mixed media, Wayne creates paintings that balance expressive movement with meticulous detail. His work explores the balance between precision and emotion, structure and spontaneity. Through his work he seeks to capture the quiet intensity of ordinary moments - where light, color, and memory converge.

Born and raised in southern Rhode Island, Wayne was deeply influenced by his mother-an artist herself-who nurtured his creativity from an early age. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Science and studied graphic and advertising design at the Rhode Island School of Design, grounding his artistic practice in both traditional technique and modern design principles.

In 2023, after more than 20 years in the web and graphic design field, Wayne fully embraced his lifelong passion for painting. Drawing on his diverse creative background, he continues to evolve his artistic voice and push his creative boundaries. Now immersed in Provincetown's vibrant artistic community, Wayne Briggs creates work that honors the timeless beauty of classic art while celebrating the expressive energy and personal history that inspire each piece.
