Join us in the future!Purple and Gold Day is the annual advocacy day for Alcorn State University alumni and friends at the Mississippi State Capitol in Jackson, Mississippi. The goal of P&G Day is to highlight the university's mission, accomplishments, significance, and contributions to the State of Mississippi.
Hundreds of alumni and friends, dressed in the university's signature colors "Purple" and "Gold" and full of "Ole Brave Spirit", descend on the State Capitol Building to share their collective support for Alcorn's legislative agenda and interests. These interests include, but are not limited to, annual budget funding, capital facilities projects, and general legislation affecting the institution's present and future.
The day's activities include a presentation from Alcorn's Legislative Liaisons and an overview and update of the university's Legislative Priorities Agenda and other relevant issues and legislation. Alcornites extend special greetings to their colleagues in the Mississippi Legislature and other statewide leaders.
