A rare find for serious wine collectors. This three-bottle vertical spans the 2011, 2012, and 2013 vintages of Favia's Quarzo Syrah -- a small-production wine from Shake Ridge Ranch in Amador County's Sierra Foothills, made by the acclaimed winemaking duo Annie Favia and Andy Erickson. The rugged, hilly landscape of iron-rich volcanic rock and intermixed quartz crystals -- the inspiration behind the name Quarzo -- gives this Syrah its signature intensity and minerality. The 2013 opens with blackberry, incense, violets, black pepper, and smoked herbs, with dense but silky tannins and a finish that lasts for days. All three bottles have been cellared and are ready to open now or hold for years to come.
Package includes:
2011 Favia Quarzo Syrah, Amador County (750mL)
2012 Favia Quarzo Syrah, Amador County (750mL)
2013 Favia Quarzo Syrah, Amador County (750mL)
