Sure to be a hot item, bid to win this Private Coastal Forks, Knives, and Spoonbills 3-course dinner for up to 8 guests from Chris and Jay Keck.
The dinner will be held at your home or a location of your choice along the SC coast, anywhere between Pawleys and Beaufort. Note that the site must have a kitchen.
Enjoy a fun, delicious, and informative evening learning about imperiled species and how you can help them from SCWF Industry Habitat Manager Jay Keck, alongside a creative 3-course meal inspired by each species prepared by Charleston private chef Chris Keck of The Healthy Palate, including an amuse-bouche and a cocktail inspired by a colorful SC bird.
Must be 21 years of age to bid and attend. Location must include a kitchen. Date to be mutually agreed upon. Expires July 18, 2027.
About the Keck brothers:
Jay Keck, SCWF Industry Habitat Manager:
Growing up on Lake Murray, Jay has always enjoyed wildlife and the outdoors. After graduating from the College of Charleston in 2000, he worked in the private sector but always maintained a connection to the outdoors. His life took an unexpected turn in the summer of 2012 when he saw a Baltimore oriole for the first time. Since then, he spends most of his free time birding, learning about birds, and studying their various habitat needs. In 2014, he attended his first SCWF birding class. Inspired by SCWF's mission, he earned his Palmetto Pro Birder certification, and has led bird walks for SCWF as well as Saluda Shoals Park, Columbia Audubon, and private organizations. Even when he is golfing, hunting, or fishing, he is secretly birding. At SCWF, Jay coordinates the Wildlife and Industry Together (WAIT) program leads birding classes for the Palmetto Pro Birder & Midlands Master Naturalist programs. He has a passion and love for all wildlife and hopes to inspire others to take a closer look at the life within our amazing planet.
About Chris Keck
Chris has been on the culinary scene for over 20 years in Charleston, SC, as well as in Chicago, IL and Boulder, CO. He has had a passion for creating and enjoying good food since a young age watching his mother in her small catering business, then in the culinary city of Charleston in college, and then he further heightened his palate from domestic and international travel thereafter particularly Spain and New Zealand.
After experience as sous chef, executive catering chef, and executive chef, in 2019 he stepped away from the restaurant setting and opened a personal chef business called The Healthy Palate. He now offers personalized meal preps, private dinners, catering, and personal chef services in the Charleston area.
Chef Keck's goal is to provide clean, healthy, and customizable cuisine highlighting local products as much as possible. He provides to busy professionals and families during the week, friends and family gatherings for a dinner or special occasion, and those wanting a relaxing and memorable vacation. As the business grows he looks forward to providing even more opportunities to enjoy his unique gourmet meals.
