Jay Moore, Autumn Sun, 2015, oil on linen, 24 x 36 in.
Jay Moore grew up in Evergreen, Colorado, spending nearly every waking moment outdoors: fishing, camping, swimming, and absorbing the subtleties of nature that every good sportsman and artist needs. 2014 saw his work displayed in the C. M. Russell Museum, the Coeur d'Alene Art Auction, and the Eiteljorg Museum. He was also selected for the 2015 and 2016 Masters of the American West Fine Art Exhibition and Sale at the Autry National Center in Los Angeles. "This is a view of the Blue River in Colorado near the ski resorts Breckenridge and Keystone. Every year I plan a trip to wander the West in search of fall colors in all their variety. This is one of those occasions where I was entranced by a view down river when I happened to look over my shoulder and saw this scene. I thought, Wow, this is even better . . . it is more tranquil and quiet than the picture postcard I was about to paint."
