The Chelsea Ship's Bell Clock and Barometer are exquisite collectibles designed to last for generations. Both instruments feature an 8.5 in. dial; a lacquered, solid forged brass case; and a traditional mahogany base. Used by mariners to tell time at sea, the Ship's Bell clock marks the hours of 4, 8, and 12 o'clock with eight rich chimes. A single bell sounds a half-hour past that, with an additional peal added to the bells every subsequent half-hour. The Barometer uses holosteric movement to measure atmospheric pressure, its dial presaging the weather with readings of "Stormy," "Rain," "Change," "Fair," or "Very Dry." Each instrument measures 13.75 x 19.75 x 5.5 in.
