"Rising up like a surreal vision among a field of blooming fireweed, a female brown bear makes her presence known to other bears that happen to wander too near her family. Powerful, agile and fast, brown bears are hardly the lumbering creatures often depicted. Instead, they are quick to rise to the occasion, be it in defense of their family or to secure a prime fishing spot along the river's edge."
