Designers Stuart, Lopez.
This Victorian Eastlake parlor chair common around 1870 to the early 1900's features a curved, ornamental back with gentle curved arms. The chair has been reupholstered by Zions Upholstery.
With access to industial woodworkign tools, this chair is a symbol of craftmanship in the Victorian era and celebratory of decoration. This chair would commonly be used in parlor or sitting rooms. The carved back splat with symmetrical ornamentation, is significant of the Eastlake movement; a reaction against overly heavy Rococo revival furniture.
Authentic Eastlake parlor chairs such as this one typically start bidding at $425.
