Designers Bell, Jones, Nydegger. This charming Victorian balloon back parlor chair features beautiful carving at the top of back and splayed legs.

The balloon back parlor chair was flaunted by the victorian people throughout the 1800's, especially english parlors and drawing rooms. The chair gets its name from the balloonn shaped backrest that is traditionally crafted from mahogany, walnut, or rosewood. Plush, button-tufted upholstery is also a defining characteristic of Victorian furniture. During the 1850's, the chair was developed to have cabriole legs with Rococo Revival carvings.

Authentic mahogany parlor chairs with this profile often start bids at $325.
