Tandy Kunkle is a local artist, educator and freelance illustrator/cartoonist. She graduated with honors from the Illustration and Design program at The Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2017 and has been working as a freelance illustrator and art teacher ever since. Teaching is a huge part of her creative practice and over the years she has taught for organizations such as The Pacific Northwest College of Art, The Oregon College of Arts and Crafts, The Oregon Arts Commission, Saturday Academy, The PDX Native American Youth and Family Center, ART4Life, The ZACC & ZACC Tracks and the LifeLong Learning Center. She is also the founder of Art Class Missoula; an art school that runs art classes for kids and adults all over the city. She has also created illustrations for clients such as Kaiser Permanente, Medtronic, The Unversed Project and The University of Montana's Co-Lab for Civic Imagination & The State of Mind Project. The content of her work tends to focus on human moments: ubiquitous, tender, heartbreaking and exuberant. And all the little things that connect us in this earthly experience.
