The Avon Award honors the origins of our organization, which began in 1874 when James Huntington established the Avon Home at 32 Avon Hill in Cambridge, MA to provide a safe haven for orphaned children. Since 2011, this award has recognized leaders and organizations demonstrating a strong commitment to the wellbeing of youth and families, following James Huntington's footsteps of vision and compassion. We are thrilled to welcome Safelite to this distinguished circle!
The Huntington Award is named after our founding father, James Huntington who took the bold step to make his community better by caring for the most vulnerable starting in 1874. Since 2011, the Huntington Award has been presented annually to exceptional leaders and organizations that have demonstrated resolve and dedication to the welfare of children in Massachusetts and beyond.
