Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Helena, Napa Valley - 2016-2018 Vertical

Spottswoode Winery was established in 1882, and it produced its first Cabernet
Sauvignon exactly 100 years later. It became one of the first California vineyards to be certified organic in 1985. According to the Connoisseurs Guide to California Wine, "Spottswoode Cabernets are the stuff from which hyperbole is made. From the winery's inaugural 1982 release to the most recent barrel samples, these extraordinary, estate grown Cabernets display the stunning depth, classic definition and impeccable craftsmanship . . . ."

The 2016-2018 vintages were some of the
best in the history of Napa Valley, rated 96, 95, and 96/100, respectively, by Wine
Spectator. (the 2016 earned perfect 100 point scores from noted reviewers Jeb
Dunnuck and Wilfred Wong). Spottswoode's most select Cabernets from these vintages are only getting rarer, and the opportunity to sample them in a vertical is a special treat.

Individually retailing at $250-$300, this collection of all three vintages provides significantly more value. All three can be enjoyed now, but will continue to improve with further aging. Whenever you choose to drink them, these wines will be an experience for you and those with whom you share them.
