Blossom - Original Zimbabwean Stone Sculpture
Own a striking original work of Zimbabwean stone sculpture with "Blossom," a hand-carved piece by artist Maggie Munyoro.
Born in Guruve, Zimbabwe in 1984, Munyoro began sculpting as a student artist at the Guruve Stone Sculpting Workshop, an art program supported by Vision Sculptures Trust and funded through the U.S. Ambassador's Special Self-Help Program.
"Blossom" is carved from Guruve serpentine, a stone native to the region and known for its rich natural tones, smooth finish, and enduring strength. In Zimbabwean stone-carving tradition, the material itself is an important part of the artistic process. Sculptors often speak of working with the stone to reveal the form and spirit already held within it, drawing inspiration from nature, family, memory, and lived experience.
At once organic, elegant, and substantial, "Blossom" is a beautiful example of Zimbabwe's internationally recognized stone-sculpting tradition and a distinctive work of art for any home or collection.
