HISTORY OF BEST IN SHEAUX
Best in Sheaux started as a watch party with a group of donors with a love of Robinson's Rescue and the Westminster Dog Show. While the local Shreveport eatery Zoloco graciously hosted the first few years, we quickly outgrew the restaurant's limited space. Since then, Best in Sheaux has gone to one of Shreveport's most anticipated annual events. Attendance has grown from a group of friends in a restaurant to enough people to fill Riverview Hall (one of Shreveport's largest event spaces) for the show. Instead of just watching Westminster, we are recreating it, and highlighting all kinds of dogs in our community. From "pure breeds" to our beloved mutts, all dogs are welcome to strut their stuff on the Best in Sheaux runway!
Robinson's Rescue's Mission and Vision
Our mission is to reduce the overpopulation and euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets in North Louisiana through providing affordable spay/neuter services and educating the public about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. Our vision is that Northwest Louisiana will be a leader in animal welfare and the ideal pet-friendly community. Euthanasia will not be necessary because there is a loving and responsible home for every pet.
Our Services
The first program we operate is our low-cost spay/neuter program, which is available to any pet-owner regardless of income. Secondly, we operate a free spay/neuter program called the Subsidized Spay/Neuter Incentive Program, which provides pets owned by local, low-income residents with free spay/neuter and rabies vaccinations. Finally, we operate a Community Outreach Program in which we participate in local animal wellness and animal-related information fairs in order to educate local residents about spay/neuter and provide them with applications for free spay/neuter through SSNIP.

Since opening our doors in 2008, Robinson's Rescue has performed more 102,000 surgeries, greatly improving the lives of animals in our community. This simply would not be possible without your kindness and dedicated support of our mission. The funds we raise at our annual events like Best in Sheaux help thousands of animals each year receive affordable spay and neuter surgeries, reducing the number of puppies and kittens born in Northwest Louisiana by millions. By removing the financial obstacle through affordable pricing and securing individual donor and grant funding, all pet owners can afford spay and neuter services. Whether it be by offsetting the rising cost of goods to keep our prices the same, allowing us to purchase vital equipment, or by keeping our building in working condition, your contributions make it all possible!
