Louis Gribaudo
CITY WALL 36, 2026
Acrylic, latex, wax paper on canvas
10-1/2 x 10-1/2 x 1"

Artist Statement
CITY WALL 36 is the newest addition to an ongoing series of paintings inspired by the exterior walls of urban buildings. These walls evolve over time, bearing witness to weather, erosion, and the layered history of posters applied, covered, and torn away. The surfaces reveal hidden stories, exposed by demolition and the relentless passage of time.

Artist Bio
Louis Gribaudo is a Philadelphia-based visual artist and musician. In 1978 he received a full scholarship to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he studied figure drawing with Marshall Glasier. By 1990, he focused exclusively on watercolor landscapes, gradually moving toward abstraction-a direction that informs his current work.

Today, Gribaudo explores what he calls "The Boundaries of Impulse," using music, sound, and urban decay as inspiration. He often incorporates recycled materials into collages, expanding the visual and conceptual scope of his paintings. His work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions, is included in worldwide collections, and appears in large-scale prints in hotels and residential facilities.
