Artist Statement
Gerald has an interest in vintage photographic process and explores, researches and applies this to his own photography. In this series of The Horse, his love of observing their own horses at play in the pastures, gestures of the foals they raised and social interactions between horses were the inspiration. Gerald chose photogravure for the limited edition of ink and archival papers to give an organic feel to the horses portrayed in the images.
