Adorn your fireplace with this beautiful, Victorian era Tole painted coal scuttle. This handpainted decorative container was used to hold and pour coal at the hearth during the 19th century. Toleware refers to painted and often gilt metal tinware pieces popular during this time period. This coal scuttle has a unique shape with a top loading lid, two side handles and four decorative feet. The black background is decorated with flowers and other gilt accents. Measuring at 22 inches tall, 12 inches wide and 14 inches deep, this piece is just one of the fine antiques you will find at Langley Antiques & Design showroom, located in the Grand Antique Mall in Reading.
